Katherine Heigl has opened herself about her experience of being born into an environment that was a "white bubble" and how this realisation has impacted how she parents her adopted multiracial children. In an interview with actress Katherine Heigl, who plays "Firefly Lane", as well as "Grey's Anatomy" actress admitted that her appearance didn't concern her, however, after having a conversation with her adoptive sister from South Korea about how society treated them, she became aware of how much different their lives were. If I asked Meg what she thought of her treatment when in public, in the presence of or without parents, she said it was different. Meg replied "Oh yes! All the times!" Heigl spoke to Parents about when she realized the naivety of her actions. She became enraged, and she decided to make use of her anger to help her adopted daughters. Heigl's husband Josh Kelley and their son Joshua Bishop Kelley Jr. 4 have been together for thirteen years. They adopted Nancy Leigh (age 12) from South Korea and Adalaide (age 8) with a black complexion, in 2009.
